Nogales faces a unique climate challenge due to its elevation and proximity to the Mexican border, experiencing intense heatwaves that can push temperatures well into triple digits. In neighborhoods near the Santa Cruz River or the hilly terrain of the city, HVAC systems often face excessive strain from dust accumulation and extreme thermal fluctuations. Residents relying on aging refrigerated air units or evaporative coolers frequently find that these systems fail during the peak of monsoon season, when high humidity renders swamp coolers ineffective and electrical surges during storms compromise sensitive control boards. Our emergency service understands the critical nature of these failures in the high desert, where indoor temperatures can quickly reach hazardous levels for elderly residents and pets.
